It's been a whirlwind of a time and Captivate Media + Consulting. Lets walk through the adventures of June together!
As we transition into the hottest time of the year, we want to take some time to reflect on the cool moments we got to experience over the last 3 months. In mid-May, Captivate was selected for 3 Telly Awards for our work with Sequoia Grove Charter Alliance (Gold), Intermediate Districts 287, 916, and 917 (Silver) and LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation (Bronze). The Telly Awards are one of the most respected recognitions in video and media production, and we're incredibly proud of the work behind each project!
But we didn't stop there, as this month we recieved 9 (!!!) NSPRA awards, including two Golden Achievement awards and five Awards of Excellence. NSPRA recognizes the best in school communications nationwide, and earning recognition for this many projects in a single year was one of the major highlights of the first half of the year. But these wins don't happen without our wonderful clients who trust us, so from all of us here at Captivate, thank you!
Summer is here, and as much as we're looking forward to some sunshine, we're equally as focused on supporting nonprofits through their busy season, helping districts get ready for the launch of the '26-27 school year, and continuing to build on the relationships that keep us here. Thanks for being apart of what we're building.
Here's to a great July!
We had the pleasure of attending two conferences this month. First the Social Media For Schools Retreat in Stillwater, hosted by Andrea Gribble at #SocialSchools4EDU, where Jake took the stage to share his framework on authenticity, algorithms, and AI. It was 3 days of fantastic conversation with school communicators from all across the country. We came back energized, full of ideas, and reminded of why the school communications community is one of the best out there.
Justin made the trip to attend the PRSA Conference in Downtown Minneapolis, connecting with communicators from across the region. The event was highlighted by first-hand accounts from those who worked behind the scenes and in the public eye during Operation Metro Surge earlier this year, as well as the lessons they took from their roles as communications professionals during that time. Justin broke down some of his key takeaways from the conference in a recent One Take Tuesday, including how trust is actually built, why your audience should always come first, and what could be missing in how you present data.
School may be out, but that doesn’t mean our production team takes the summer off.
It’s graduation season, which means the longest tenured students are closing one chapter and beginning another.
We had the honor of capturing the graduation ceremony in Robbinsdale Area Public Schools. Hear from the students who walked across the stage on what graduation means to them, and what’s in store for their next chapter.
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2026!
